I'd been out with work doing some volunteering work with the River Dee Trust, and as it was such a nice day, a few of us went up Mither Tap afterwards. It's a summit that's part of Bennachie, but not the highest part and so not the SOTA summit.
However, Alan MM0VPM, was out on Creag Mhor (GM/ES-017), a rarely activated summit in the depths of the Cairngorms, and I was hoping for a complete. I managed to chase him on 2m, and have a wee chat, whilst my colleagues sunned themselves at the top and had a rapid intro to SOTA.
I then saw a spot for Caroline down in SS land somewhere, and even though I had no idea where her hill was, I listened and we just managed a QSO... 200 km with just the HT and RH-770! Pretty good!.
